Congratulatory balloons surrounded Harry Day on his last day of work at the Washoe Voter Registrar’s Office. Day retired after 28 years. When he began work, the office was in the Washoe County Courthouse on South Virginia Street. It’s now in the county complex on Ninth Street. Judges, state legislators and mayors were among those attending a retirement party for Day, who has become a fixture in the voter registration and elections office.
