Not forgotten

Jack Neal was a Reno High School band instructor who switched to teaching government classes. He brought public officials, candidates and reporters to his classes to give his students a look at the people they knew only as names. In retirement, Neal wrote art criticism, hosted a KUNR program, taught a Truckee Meadows Community College class and worked in the local Democratic Party. He died on Feb. 26 at age 77.
