Neil Young is sparked by electricity

Neil Young wants to bring electric cars to the mainstream. Neil Young thinks electric cars may be a more powerful way to change than world than music. He’s asked a Wichita, Kan., mechanic, Jonathan Goodwin, to help convert his 1959 Lincoln Continental convertible to run on an electric battery. They want it to become “a model for the world’s first affordable mass-produced electric-powered automobile,” according to the Associated Press. So far, affordability hasn’t come cheap—Young has put about $120,000 into the car.

“You can’t change the world by writing songs,” the 62-year-old rocker told the AP. “But we could change it with this car.”
