Jen Scaffidi is finishing up the application and proposal for an all-day women’s music fest, slated for late summer or early fall. She’s looking for female musicians to play, female business owners to set up booths and female-friendly organizations to help fund the event. She’s also open to new ideas, especially if they involve boosting girls’ self-esteem and exposing junior high and high school girls to a pro-girl culture. Scaffidi stresses that this is not an
anti-boy event—the fest will include bands with guys in them, but not
all-guy bands. Call Scaffidi at 883-7465 or Marianne Psota at 348-7423 by June 8 to sign up.
