Music notes
The Boogie Monsters release their new CD,
Live From Yo Mam’s Kitchen, 8 p.m. Aug. 7 at Cantina Los Tres Hombres. If an absolute emergency forces you to miss the show, the CD can be purchased at Soundwave CDs or Tower Records. Other local bands with new CDs are Burning Peace and PushBox. … International reggae star David Kirton and his Modern Roots Band also stop into the Cantina at 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 13. The Colorado Springs Independent says, “Based in the roots style of Bob Marley and Jimmy Cliff, Kirton has drawn from Spanish influences and world beats for his concoction of reggae, island and pop. It’s new, it’s different, but it will still make you groove and praise.” So, head to the Cantina for two weekends of music that will get your boogie on.
