While Steve Peto, Ark-a’ik owner, was out of town, his best-all-ages-music-venue-in-Reno club became trashed to the point of having to close up shop. Peto said one of his managers let the place be terribly vandalized—windows and display cases were broken, walls were tagged with graffiti, things were stolen. Peto was forced, to his dismay, to make the choice to temporarily shut Ark-a’ik down. He’s pressing charges against the people he thinks were involved. However, Peto has said he plans to reopen Ark-a’ik by Dec. 15, just in time for big shows like
Defiance and
Lower Class Brats. The reopening will be accompanied by a change in management. Stay tuned to Ark-a’ik’s Web site at
