Music notes
Fleetwood Mac played at Lawlor on Aug. 1. Dave Foto says they put on a great show using a Dragonfly wing-style backdrop to project images that corresponded to their songs. Dave ran into Jelena Hatfield backstage. Renoites probably remember Jelena from media coverage when she was stricken with bacterial meningitis, which caused her to lose her fingers and legs. Jelena met Stevie Nicks when she was ill, and the two have kept in touch since. During the middle of the performance, Nicks dedicated the song “Beautiful Child” from the 1979 album
Tusk to Jelena. Dave says Jelena looked stunning and, thanks to prosthetic legs, is walking now.
