Music notes

On March 29, East Bay Ray of the Dead Kennedys happened by a Scurvy Bastards show at The Hideout. “They’re really refreshing,” Ray said. “They’re what punk rock is supposed to be about.” In other news, there are a couple CD release parties that will rock your world. The Spark releases their CD/EP Sound the Alarm at a bash complete with free food and goodies, 10 p.m. April 12 at the Zephyr. The Tahoe-based band, Armed and Hammered, releases their CD Go To Hell at Hoss Hogs in S. Lake Tahoe, 9:30 p.m. April 11, with guest bands including the most originally named, politically-correct band of the year, The Fucktards. —compiled by Miranda Jesch
