Music notes

So the big news last week was the Ministry show at New Oasis which, reports Foto Dave, “brought out the goth and industrial contingent of Reno in full force.” Lead singer Al Jourgensen, Dave says, is nice as can be, despite rumors to the contrary. Next up at New Oasis is Reel Big Fish, which puts on a hell of a fun show. (March 25, $20/$18 advance.) Get ready for The Spark’s CD release party for Sound the Alarm at the Zephyr Lounge April 12. The show is 5 bucks or free with the purchase of Alarm. This week, the March 22 Dubterraneans show at Cantina Los Tres Hombres in Sparks, which will feature reggae vocalists including the rad Soulmedic dudes, is sure to rock. Curl Up and Die will play at Ark-a’ik March 21, but you’re advised to get there early, since the fire marshal has been counting heads to make sure things aren’t, you know, packed and dangerous.
