More cuts
The Washoe County Commission cut wages and benefits for three employee groups as part of efforts to deal with deficits. It’s the latest step in dealing with a $33.8 million shortfall and probably won’t be the last.
Salary savings and benefit reductions totaled just under half a million dollars—$489,835.
Cuts have also been taken by the county commissioners themselves as well as applied to management.
