Many GOP candidates could help Gibbons

The prospect that resigned federal judge Brian Sandoval is being recruited by GOP leaders into entering the Republican primary against Gov. Jim Gibbons is generally being seen as bad news for the governor. But it could also be salvation for Gibbons. With the mayors of Reno and North Las Vegas and former state senator and Iraq vet Joe Heck either in the race or considering it, a large field could allow Gibbons to squeeze through with a very small but loyal vote.
