Lowden scrutinized

Every election, candidates do “opposition research” on their potential opponents. At the University of Nevada, Reno library in recent days, a researcher has been combing through Nevada newspapers on microfilm, searching for items on Republican U.S. Senate candidate Sue Lowden, mainly during her single term in the Nevada Senate.

Lowden is opposed in the Republican primary by Danny Tarkanian and others, and if she survives the primary, will face Democrat Harry Reid.
