Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers

Rated 5.0 Peter Jackson’s second installment in his Tolkien trilogy is every bit as good as the first. Much darker in tone, and packed with serious excitement, this film takes Jackson one step closer to completing one of the greatest adventure sagas in cinematic history. Jackson and crew are masters of visual effects, and their renditions of Tolkien characters Gollum and Treebeard are tremendous achievements. The Battle of Helm’s Deep qualifies as one of the greatest battle sequences ever put to film. One of 2002’s best pictures.
