Life cycle

The inaugural Edible Pedal 100 was a success with more than 500 cyclists in tow. The ride––which raised funds for Urban Roots Garden Classroom, Virginia Palmer Elementary School, and local Rotary programs—offered three different routes for novice and experienced riders from Reno to Carson City and beyond. A post-ride party was held at Bower’s Mansion Regional Park and featured a feast of food from local organizations. To get involved in next year’s event, check out their Facebook page at http://facebook.com/ediblepedal100.

The event is just one example of Northern Nevada’s commitment toward valuing cycling and its culture. Reno-Sparks was recently named a Bike Friendly Community by the League of American Bicyclists. South Lake Tahoe also made the list and both were given Bronze awards. Maybe next year we’ll go for the gold.
