Happily ever after

In case you missed their stop in Reno last fall, here’s another chance to see Tears for Fears. The duo will visit Lake Tahoe in support of their latest album. Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith formed TFF in Bath, England, in the early 1980s. The name was inspired by Arthur Janov’s primal therapy and reflected in songs on their 1983 album, The Hurting. It wasn’t until 1985 that TFF broke in America thanks to the success of their album, Songs from the Big Chair, which spawned the hits “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” and “Shout” They followed up that album with 1989’s hit release Sowing the Seeds of Love. After splitting in 1990, Orzabal recorded under the TFF moniker while Smith moved on to other projects. But the two childhood friends eventually put their differences aside and released Everybody Loves A Happy Ending last fall. Tears for Fears performs 9 p.m. July 29-30 at Caesars Tahoe, 55 Highway 50, Stateline. Tickets are $30, $40. Call (800) 648-3353.
