Guide to green

If you think there aren’t many green groups going in Reno, crack open the newest edition of the Great Green Guide of Reno-Tahoe. Published every two years through Nevada EcoNet, it’s now available at local bookstores and specialty stores, as well as online. All proceeds from the $10 charge for the hard copy version go directly to Nevada EcoNet. The Green Guide lists more than 100 conservation groups in the area and includes their contact information and a brief synopsis of what they do. If you’re looking for organizations involved in green building, sustainable food, wildland conservation or water, mining and waste issues, you’ll likely find it in this guide. Find hard copy versions in Reno at Dharma Used and Rare Books, La Terre Verte, LIV Eco-Chic Boutique, Pinky Pink’s Ink, REI and Rock-a-bye, and Sundance Bookstore. It’s also at La Galleria in Truckee.
