Gliding into magic

Can’t wait for the spins and leaps of Olympic ice skaters to grace your TV set in February? Then grab your snow chains and parkas and head on up to Caesars Tahoe for Zigra: A Holiday Celebration on Ice. The Montreal Ice Ballet, which includes Olympians such as Sebastian Britten and Eric Masse, will incorporate ice skating with theater, dancing and circus acrobatics for this show. The title character, Zigra (played by Britten), is a mythical character "from another galaxy" who will "move the audience on a magical voyage through a realm of ‘world beat'-inspired performances." The show will also feature skaters Kontantin Mironov, Sylvain Leclerc, Martin Gaudreault, Stephanie Vachon and Xavier Lamoreux. Show times are 8 p.m. Dec. 25-26 and both 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Dec. 27-28. Ticket prices are $39-$49 for adults and $19 for children 12 and under. Call (800) 648-3353.
