Free recycling for computers lasts all year

A glimpse of the line of cars stretched around the Reno Livestock Events Center on Jan. 31 looked more like a Burning Man exodus than a free e-waste event. For anyone who decided not to spend their Saturday in line there, or who were turned away after an estimated 500,000 pounds of waste were collected, there are alternatives. Two of them are even free.

New2uComputers and Carson City’s Computer Corps recycle computers for free. New2U is at 155 Glendale Ave., Suite 11, Sparks. Find out more at www.new2ucomputers.com. Computer Corps is at 6373 U.S. 50 East in Carson City. Visit www.computercorps.org to learn more about them.

Accepting televisions and other e-waste for a fee are Waste Management drop-off locations in Reno and Sparks, Clean Harbor in Sparks, and Global Investment Recovery, Inc., in Sparks.
