First lady aids jobless Nevadans

While Nevada’s governor may want First Lady Dawn Gibbons marginalized, it’s not happening quite that way. The former member of the Washoe County Airport Authority and Nevada Legislature last week used her connections to get a grant of $250,000 and $65,000 worth of food for programs to aid people thrown out of work in Southern Nevada.

The donors were the Crescere Foundation and Safeway/Vons grocery stores. “Dawn sees Nevadans are hurting,” said foundation president Beverly Ozmun. Lutheran Social Services of Nevada in Las Vegas is administering the gifts.
