For newcomers who don’t yet know about walking the river, there is an unbroken walk along the Truckee from west Reno to east Sparks. (Well, actually, there <i>is</i> one break in the path, at Virginia Street while the bridge is being replaced.) Along the river these days, if you stop to rest, a goose family may come ashore to visit with you, as happened to us—mom, dad, and two goslings.
