It’s the annual party to honor the rising temperatures and change in the season: the Somersett Springfest. Lots of greenies have found a way to celebrate the outdoors and the opening kickoff of gardening season, and various groups and businesses—from Boy Scouts demonstrating survival and camping skills to the Garden Shop Nursery with seed-planting workshops for kids to hunting and fishing info from the University of Nevada, Reno Outdoors Club—want to clue you in on enjoying the great outdoors. There will also be food and music. The event is on Saturday, May 1, from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. at Somersett’s Town Square, 7650 Town Square Way, Reno NV. Take I-80 to Robb Drive exit and turn left on Sharlands Avenue. Sharlands turns into Somersett Parkway and leads into the community.
