Eco-Event: Pickling and Probiotics workshop

Learn how to pickle different vegetables and how to make probiotic drinks, like kombucha and kefir on Sun., Aug. 16 at a “Pickling and Probiotics” workshop from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the River School. 7777 White Fir St. Led by Marcia Litsinger of Churchill Butte Farm. The $25 fee includes taking home what’s made. This is first of a three-part series called “Preserving the Harvest.” The other two classes are “Canning” on Aug. 30, $25 and “Drying and Freezing” on Sept. 13, $20.
