Learn how to “go native” at the Northern Nevada Native Plants guided tour on June 17 from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the Wilbur May Arboretum. It’s led by Lynda Nelson, Washoe County Park planning manager and former horticulturist for the May Arboretum, and she’ll show participants the plants that survive in this area and which drought-tolerant varieties tend to be most successful here. Bring pencil and paper for notes, and a camera. Meet in front of the arboretum office between the Ranch House and Ranger Station inside Rancho San Rafael Regional Park, 1595 N. Sierra St. Free. For more information, call 785-4153, or visit www.co.washoe.nv.us/parks/arboretum/events.html.
