Dreamscapes

The Nevada Museum of Art opens a retrospective of one of America’s most popular 20th-century artists this weekend. Maxfield Parrish: Master of Make-Believe features some of Parrish’s most famous works, such as “Daybreak” (pictured) as well as rarely seen pieces like “North Wall,” a mural commissioned by Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney. The show includes more than 80 works from museums and from private collections, and the NMA is the first West Coast venue to show this touring exhibit. Maxfield Parrish opens April 30 and runs through June 26 at the NMA, 160 W. Liberty St. Admission is $8-$10. Call 329-3333.—Kelley Lang
