Date Night

Rated 3.0

Steve Carell and Tina Fey are funny together. While this movie is no major feat in writing, it does have a lot of laughs thanks to their combined charisma. The two play a married couple who have fallen into a typically humdrum routine. One night, they decide to step it up and go to a classy restaurant, only to find themselves the victims of a serious case of mistaken identity. Car chases, gunfights, and some decent giggles ensue. This film probably doesn’t represent the pinnacle of Steve Carell and Tina Fey’s careers. I mean, it actually has a scene with Fey dressed as a hooker while Carell performs a robot sex dance on her. Still, Date Night provides them with enough fuel for laughs to get you through its 88-minute running time with no major harm done.
