Darkness

Rated 1.0 Oscar winner Anna Paquin stars in this plodding, putrid, supernatural thriller that doesn’t make a lick of sense. Some jibber-jabber about ghost children, a house where the lights go out a lot, and Lena Olin are supposed to scare us, but they don’t. It’s 90 minutes of actors looking confused, getting locked in rooms from time to time, and people spending the night in their house shortly after discovering a sacrificial alter under the floorboards. I would like to give away the ending, thus spoiling it for you and preventing you from seeing it. Problem is the film really doesn’t have an ending. When the credits roll, we are left with no answers to any questions, and a lot of people in the audience yelling, “What a piece of shit!”
