Dark Blue

An overwrought cop drama that plays upon all those bad policeman clichés. Kurt Russell is alternately decent and sloppy as a bad cop who shows no signs of redemption, and a Los Angeles on the verge of the Rodney King riots plays as the backdrop. While it has its virtues, it is appallingly bad in spots, especially when it comes to Ving Rhames as a police chief wannabe. He has never been so stilted. Pretty forgettable.
