Using information from Google searches made during the first four months of 2017, Google has posted a map showing the words people from each state seek help spelling. In Nevada’s case, it is the word available.
Timed for the national spelling bee in Maryland, the Google map shows adjoining states sought help spelling sense (Oregon), quote (Idaho), disease (Utah), tomorrow (Arizona) and beautiful (California). Ohio, Minnesota and Kentucky’s word also was beautiful, but Nevada had available all to itself. Two states—Connecticut and West Virginia—needed help with the corporate-invented word supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. That one auto-completes after only six letters.
And then there’s Wisconsin, whose residents needed help spelling—Wisconsin.
