Conga time

If you’ve been itching to "shake your body baby and do that conga," you’ll soon get your chance, as the worldly sounds of Wild Mango return to Lake Tahoe. Combining elements of jazz, funk, Latin and Brazilian music, Wild Mango has fashioned their infectious sound to cross musical borders and make you feel that conga beat. With a resume that includes opening for national touring bands such as Manhattan Transfer and Los Van Van, it’s clear that they can draw a crowd. You also can experience Wild Mango when they play at the Kings Beach School at 6 p.m. Nov. 9. The show, which will benefit Arts for the Schools, is partly funded by the California Arts Council. Advance tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students and $20 for a family pack. Call (530) 546-4602.
