CNN.com’s Fringe

They say no news is good news, but I’ve always felt that quirky news is some of the best news. That’s why I am a big fan of CNN.com’s Fringe section. CNN.com describes the compilation of stories as “a summary of the strange, bizarre or just plain silly events” of the world. Recent stories: a piece about a 4-year-old skydiver; an article about a Canadian political candidate who posed topless; a recap of the Michigan Lawsuit Abuse Watch’s Wacky Warning Labels contest, which was won by a label on some shin guards: “Shin pads cannot protect any part of the body they do not cover.” There is also a weekly e-mail you can sign up for, and every Thursday, CNN.com will send you a recap of the week’s best fringe stories. With all the budget and employee cuts that CNN is making, I am praying fervently that they don’t mess with the Fringe.
