Clearing the air

The Access to Healthcare Network and CommRow were awarded the 2011 Extra Mile Awards by the Washoe County Health District for “voluntarily expanding the smoking ban.” Access to Healthcare network provides resources for those trying to quit smoking. According to the WCHD, CommRow will be another smoke-free hotel in downtown Reno once they add smoke-free meeting and hotel rooms. Smoking is already not allowed in the dining, entertainment and climbing venues. The Truckee River Terrace and the Siena are also smoke-free.
This year marks the fifth anniversary of the Nevada Clean Indoor Air Act, which was gutted by the Legislature last sentence. Learn more about the WCHD’s clean air programs at www.gethealthywashoe.com.
