The lawns in front of the former downtown Sparks movie theaters are now history. They have been excavated and are the site of structures under construction. The lawns were formerly used for play and as picnic grounds for special events like the Fourth of July. No word yet on what will happen to the children’s fountain, at left, that stands between the two lawns. A park immediately south of the fountain had already been converted by the city from lawns to concrete.
