Celtic Cosmos

Be swept away in “A Universe of Dreams” a multimedia concert that explores the wonder and mystery of the universe. The traditional Celtic sounds of Ensemble Galilei meld with dazzling projected images from NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope in this stellar event. Ensemble Galilei’s musicians include Liz Knowles, the fiddler from Riverdance, and Sue Richards, the U.S. National Scottish Harp Champion. Old and new combine as the group accompanies visions of the Cat’s Eye Nebula, the Sombrero Galaxy, the core of the Crab Nebula and many more. Neal Conan, host of NPR’s Talk of the Nation, adds another dimension as he narrates the poetry of Michael S. Glasser, V.P. Loggins, William Shakespeare, Jim Harrison, Stanley Kunitz and others. The Performing Arts Series at the University of Nevada, Reno presents this intriguing fusion of the senses on Thursday, Oct. 6, in the Nightingale Concert Hall in the Church Fine Arts building at UNR. Individual tickets can be purchased for $24/adult, $20/senior, $12/student, $7/university student. Call 784-4278 for more information.
