Carpenters hammer Walgreens

Members of the local Carpenters Union keep vigil at the Walgreens in Spanish Springs Valley. For months, the giant chain has been plagued with similar protests all around the nation over its unwillingness to pay industry standard wages and its use of non-local workers at construction job sites. Walgreens has more than 7,500 stores and a presence in every state. The company says that a “great number” of its construction jobs use union workers.
