Bus service changes slated

The Regional Transportation Commission plans an Aug. 21 hearing on municipal bus service.

Among the intended changes are a plan to offer lower rates for 24-hour passes when purchased from machines—or, from the passenger’s point of view, a financial penalty when passes are purchased from humans.

A second change would reduce the number of stops on downtown-to-Meadowood route 1 from 44 to 14.

The hearing will be at RTC offices at 2050 Villanova Drive—under the freeway behind Wooster High—“no earlier than 9:05 a.m.,” according to a bus placard. That location is reachable on bus route 19.
