Bringing Down the House

While the cast includes the likes of Steve Martin and Eugene Levy, even they can’t save this one from being something akin to a modern day minstrel show. Racial slurs are given the warm and fuzzy, bad ’80s sitcom approach, and Martin and only embarrass themselves. A tight-assed lawyer (Martin) makes an Internet date with someone he thinks is a Caucasian blonde, but winds up with big, bold Latifah at his door, causing all kinds of trouble. Sure to produce frequent, intense cringes.
