Recently we ran a photo here in our news section of two workers replacing light bulbs in the Reno Arch and reported the workers were unable to tell us the total number of bulbs in the structure.
Nevada Regent Jason Geddes has supplied the answer: 2,076.
“I had to count them when I was at the City and we converted the arch to LED bulbs,” Geddes wrote in his message. “The number is burned in my brain.”
Geddes, a biochemist and environmental health scientist, served as environmental services administrator for the City of Reno and now performs a similar function for the Washoe County School District.
