Billboard cap vote planned

The Reno Planning Commission will meet on Thursday, Nov. 5, at the Reno City Council hall to take action on whether to allow more billboards, in this case digital boards.

The number of billboards in the city was frozen by voter order at 278 in the 2000 election. The group that placed that measure on the ballot, now called Scenic Nevada, is asking members of the public to attend the commission meeting: “We would appreciate if you could attend the Reno City Planning Commission meeting in person … and either testify against digital billboards or fill out a comment card to that effect.”

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m.
