Band of brothers

Music is a family affair for the members of Los Lonely Boys. Brothers Henry (guitar), Jojo (bass) and Ringo (drums) Garza have been making music together—with help from their father, Ringo Sr.—since they were kids. The boys played backup for their dad while they were pre-teens. Realizing his sons’ musical talent, the elder Garza moved the family from Texas to Nashville, Tenn., where they could further hone their skills. Eventually, Los Lonely Boys returned to Texas, where their music career took off. They gained a reputation as one of the best live acts on the Southeast touring circuit, and soon people in the music biz took notice. One of their fans, Willie Nelson, invited the band to record at his Pedernales studio. Their self-titled debut was released in 2004, and their hit song “Heaven” earned them a Grammy award. Los Lonely Boys and Robert Randolph & the Family Band play 7:30 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Reno Events Center, 400 N. Center St. Tickets are $29.50-$40. Call 335-8840.
