Back in time

Return to the days of Elizabethan England this weekend when the Heart of the Forest Renaissance Faire opens at Lake Tahoe. The annual festival features costumed performers, jousting competitions, music and dances from England and the Middle East as well as theatrical performances and activities for kids. Vendors will also sell a variety of arts and crafts and food ranging from English meat pies to more exotic fare from the Mediterranean. The fun begins 10 a.m. June 4-5 and 11-12 at Camp Richardson, 1900 Jameson Beach Road, South Lake Tahoe. Admission is $8-$17 and free for ages 5 and younger.
