The Nevada Museum of Art hosted a screening of the documentary Art Hard with environmental artist Jim Denevan on Dec. 17. In 2010, Denevan created the “largest drawing in the world” on Lake Baikal in Siberia—a 9-square-mile engraving of the Fibonacci sequence on the icy surface. Denevan was present to answer questions with the public.

As an artist and an activist, Denevan has traveled around the world to bring attention to local food networks and environmental changes in landscapes. He founded the Outstanding in the Field project, which promotes eating and cooking using locally available resources.
