An easy five bills
Steve Martarano, who was Sagebrush editor at UNR in 1978-79, has created a $500 endowment to reward students who write the best published news story during each academic year.
Candidates for the first endowment, to be awarded in May, are being sought. “There’s a tight deadline, just until the end of February, to get entries for this first one in,” said Martarano, now an information officer with the California Department of Fish & Game.

Martarano also previously created a Sagebrush Editor Scholarship, awarded to each year’s editor of the student newspaper.
