After Burn

Before you wash all the playa dust out of your hair one last time, recycle your Burning Man detritus for a good cause at locations offered by the Reno-Sparks-Wadsworth Recycling Project. The project accepts plastics 1-5, glass, all metals, paper, cardboard, plastic bags, batteries, bikes, and non-perishable food and water from Friday, Aug. 27 through Wednesday, Sept. 8. They’ll take non-recyclable waste for $3 per 35-gallon trash bag. Proceeds will be donated to Black Rock Solar, and food and water will be given to local food banks. Bikes will be donated to local Kiwanis Club and American Legion projects. The locations:

Save Mart supermarkets: 525 Keystone Ave. in Reno, 195 W. Plumb Lane in Reno, 565 E. Prater Way in Sparks, 9750 Pyramid Lake Highway in Sparks

Whole Foods Market: 6139 S. Virginia St. in Reno

Trash Pros: 1299 Washeim Street, State Route 447 in Wadsworth.
