A woman scorned

Las Vegas-based Nevada Ballet Theatre makes a trip up north to present Giselle. The three-act, romantic era ballet portrays the ill-fated romance between a young peasant girl, Giselle, and a nobleman Albrecht. Giselle premiered in Paris in 1841, and has long been a showcase of a ballerina’s technical and dramatic skills. Natasha Chapourskaya (pictured) performs the lead role in Nevada Ballet Theatre’s production, which begins 8 p.m. May 8 at the Pioneer Theater, 100 S. Virginia St. Tickets are $22-$43.
