30 years. 30 voices.

One big night!

It will be harmony at it’s very best!! The Reno Silver Dollar Chorus presents its annual evening under the stars during Artown on July 23rd at Hawkins Amphitheatre in Bartley Ranch. This year is particularly special since the Silver Dollar Chorus celebrates its 30th anniversary.

“We are proud of our hundreds of regional appearances over that time”, said President Bill Moriarty, “and are pleased to be able to present a good quality of a cappella male harmony for the community to enjoy”. The theme of this year’s performance is “music through the ages”. You can expect to hear some of the “oldies” – traditional barbershop harmony that survives the test of time – but you will also hear some newer, certainly non-traditional arrangements from this 30-voice male group. The chorus will close the evening with their signature patriotic package.

The Chorus is proud to include guest appearances by two exciting groups. Joining them again is High Desert Harmony, our own local chapter of the Sweet Adelines, singing their delightful and crowd-pleasing brand of 4-part harmony. Another highlight is a supreme new male barbershop harmony quartet called Playback. This northern California group is taking the region by storm with energetic and sparkling performances so characteristic of young voices. This is their first performance in this region, and you won’t forget them!

“Y’all just gotta come”, says Moriarty. Tickets are available by calling 345-2626.
