28 Days Later

Rated 4.0 28 Days Later Director Danny Boyle (Trainspotting) reestablishes himself with this frightening, nicely-paced zombie film. Owing plenty to George Romero’s zombie trilogy (Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead), it tells the story of a world infected by a virus called rage. When humans are exposed, they become red-eyed, vomit-spewing zombies determined to kill anything in their paths. Unlike the zombies of past horror films, these monsters are amped up, running around like nuts instead of lumbering along at a maddeningly slow pace. Filmed on high definition video, the film has a documentary feel, accentuating the scares. One of the scariest movies of the last ten years.
