Replace that stove

Butte County Air Quality Management District offers $1,000-$3,500 vouchers to families

If you have an old, inefficient wood-burning stove or fireplace, you could qualify for up to $3,500 toward a replacement.

The Butte County Air Quality Management District is giving out vouchers that will help families replace outdated wood-burning stoves serving as their primary source of heat with an EPA-certified wood stove or insert or a natural gas, propane or electric heater.

All eligible households will receive a voucher of $1,000 to help pay for the purchase of the replacement, the installation and permitting. Low-income households can receive up to $3,500.

This program, funded by California Climate Investments, has a goal of reducing wood smoke to increase safety, reduce air pollution and improve indoor air quality.
