Get ready to rock!

It's time for the CN&R's annual issue highlighting some of the coolest new bands in Chico. If you haven't heard of Ruby Hollow or Shivaree, don't despair--we've got you covered. We've even provided links to their sites so you can get music samples along with more photos and info on each group. Right on!

There's also an interview with former 49er Jeff Stover, who talks about the dangers of football (and his love of the sport). No, this isn't a sports issue--there's updated info on the recent shooting near campus, and the cops finger a suspect in the stabbing of Joseph Igbineweka. We have a feature on recycled bicycles and columnist Anthony Peyton Porter waxes philosophical after a weekend at the Snow Goose Festival.
