Horrible Bosses

Rated 4.0

Three harassed and put-upon employees (Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, Charlie Day) fantasize about murdering their respective bosses (Kevin Spacey, Colin Farrell, Jennifer Aniston)—then, almost without thinking about it, set about making their fantasies come true. Rated a hard “R” for nonstop profanity, raunchy sex scenes and general tastelessness, the movie is also absolutely hilarious, with a bubbling flow of clever off-color dialogue supplied by writers Michael Markowitz, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein and expertly handled by the three stars. Things get a little plot-heavy as it moves into the third act, and director Seth Gordon can’t quite keep the pace from flagging, but things pick up again in time for a satisfying finish. Jamie Foxx has fun as the anti-heroes’ “murder-for-hire consultant.”
