Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil

Rated 3.0

In this sequel to the 2005 animated sleeper, Red Riding Hood (voice by Hayden Panetierre, taking over for Anne Hathaway) leaves her secret training among the Sister Hoods to help Granny (Glenn Close) and the Wolf (Patrick Warburton) investigate the kidnapping of Hansel and Gretel (Bill Hader, Amy Poehler) by a wicked witch (Joan Cusack). The animation is only serviceable, but the script (by Cory Edwards, Todd Edwards, Tony Leech and director Mike Disa) bristles with funny, rapid-fire, mock-hard-boiled dialogue, and the all-star voice cast (also David Ogden Stiers, Cheech and Chong, Martin Short, Heidi Klum, Brad Garrett and Wayne Newton, among others) has a lot of fun with it. The 3-D is superfluous, and a drawback; the image is dim and not always in proper register (beware headaches spoiling the fun).
